Before creating any piece, I (Charlotte de Jongh, also known as Charlie Moon) dive into thorough research on shapes, structures, colors, materials, and various plant and animal species. I use a variety of mediums, including artificial intelligence, digital drawing, and traditional painting, often combining these methods to create innovative and unique artworks.
Dedicated to celebrating the beauty and complexity of life through a blend of technological techniques and heartfelt storytelling, my work offers a sanctuary from the harshness of reality, inviting people to focus on the softer, more enchanting aspects of our existence. Studying at SintLucas and at the Amsterdam Fashion Institute deepened my understanding of design principles, complementing my upbringing with a scientist father and an artist mother, which naturally drew me to both the creative and technological aspects of art. During my time as a digital nomad in Oceania, I developed a profound appreciation for nomadic prints, which have become a significant influence on my work. Additionally, my deep fascination with nature and animals drives me to create fantastical worlds where humans and animals connect in magical ways. |
